Shirley Marie Hicks

Shirley Marie Hicks, 74, Ottawa, died Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa. She was born Oct. 11, 1931, at Ottawa, to Theodore and Mary (Hobbs) Foltz. Shirley was a lifelong Ottawa resident, except for a time from 1947 until 1953, living in Topeka. As a child, she lived in California. Shirley attended Ottawa schools. Shirley was a homemaker and worked from March of 1972 until January of 1988 in the housekeeping department at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa. Shirley was a member of the Ottawa Church of the Nazarene, also attending Assembly of God and Community Revival Center in Ottawa. On May 29, 1947, Shirley was united in marriage with Glenn English in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1979. On October 11, 1984, Shirley was united in marriage with Charles R. `Russ` Hicks in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1993. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kathy English, Ottawa; a son, Danny English, Rogersville, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Gary Hughes, Ottawa; a stepson and wife, Charles
