Shirley Lee Mance

Shirley Lee Mance, 83, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Baldwin Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. The family will meet with friends immediately following services. Private interment Peoria Cemetery, Peoria, Kansas. Shirley was born July 24, 1931, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Elza and Natalie (Thompson) Walker. They preceded her in death. She attended Wyandotte High School with the class of 1948. She was a near lifelong Kansas City area resident until moving to Ottawa in 1976. Shirley was united in marriage, for 65 years, with Frank Mance in September 1948. He preceded her in death in 2013. She was the owner of Select Gifts Hallmark Store in Kansas City and Overland Park, Kansas, for 14 years. She was loved by her daughters, Sherri Mance and Janet Wiles; son-in-law, Stanley Wiles; granddaughter, Maria Miller; two grandsons, Taylor Wiles and wife, Hayley and Frank Wiles and wife, Emily; three great granddaughters, Lavender, Aubrey, and Makayla. Shirley was a gifted artist in oil painting, sewing, and gardening. She was always a source of love and faith for her friends and family.
