Shirley Ann Kornhaus

Shirley Ann Kornhaus, age 78, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012. She was born on Thursday, January 4, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Oliver Cecil and Reva Beatrice (Adkison) Sedoris. She grew up, and lived, in Kansas City until her marriage. She lived in Warrensburg, Missouri during her college years, moving to Ottawa in 1958. Shirley graduated from Southeast High School in Kansas City with the class of 1951, and Central Missouri State in Warrensburg in 1955. Shirley worked at Wassmer’s Men’s Clothing Store of Ottawa for thirteen years and Didde Office Supply of Ottawa from 1975 until retirement in January of 2007. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. Shirley enjoyed fishing, playing Bridge, and watching Track & Field. In later years, she enjoyed going to the casino with her friends. On Friday, April 23, 1954, Shirley was united in marriage with Donald Christy Kornhaus in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2002. She is survived by her: Son-Chris Kornhaus of Ottawa, Kansas; Son-Kit Kornhaus of Ottawa, Kansas and Son-Curtis Kornhaus and his wife, Mary, of McPherson, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her: Husband-Donald Christy Kornhaus and her Parents-Oliver Cecil and Reva Beatrice Sedoris. SERVICES: Memorial Services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2012.
