Shirley A. Drumright, 81, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Life Care Center of Osawatomie. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 26, 2014, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2014, at the mortuary. Interment Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul, Kansas. Shirley was born Monday, May 22, 1933, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of John and Barbara (Smith) Snook. She grew up in Kansas City, Kansas moving to Shawnee Mission, Kansas where she lived from 1969 to 1979. She lived in Rantoul, Kansas from 1979 to1994 and Ottawa, from 1994 until moving to the Life Care Center in Osawatomie, where she made her home until her death. She received her GED in 1951. Shirley was united in marriage to Nicholas M. King September 15, 1950, in Kansas City, Kansas. He preceded her in death June 29, 1989. She married Aaron Drumright November 26, 1994 in Ottawa. He too preceded her in death October 13, 2005. Shirley was also preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Jewel Marie Frost. Survivors include her eight children, Katherine Holzheuser and husband Dale of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Nicholas King, II and wife Veva of Shawnee, Kansas, Dana King and partner Kirsten Myers of Topeka, Kris Brockway and husband John of Ottawa, Kelly Hutchinson and husband Dan of Rantoul, Dawn Bailey and husband Clint of Osawatomie, Tracey Sypher and husband Jeff of Osage City, and Stacey Jensen and husband Mike of Ottawa; twenty-one grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren. Shirley worked through the years in management/customer service for Strasser Hardware, Milgrim’s, Foodland and Country Mart. She held the office of PTA President and was a member of Job’s Daughters, Westport Baptist Church of Kansas City, Kansas, First Southern Baptist Church of Kansas City, Kansas, Ruhamah Baptist Church of Rantoul, Kansas where she served as treasurer, and First Baptist Church, Ottawa, where she sang in the choir. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, quilting, fishing, gardening and spending time with her family. She will be missed and fondly remembered.
