Sheryl Ann Arpin, age 56, of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021. Sheryl was born Friday, January 1, 1965, in Fremont, CA, the daughter of James L. and Maryjane (Torres) Arpin. She attended Blue Valley High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1983. Sheryl was a catcher for club softball. She attended Johnson County Community College, and pursued a degree in nursing, up until the time she became ill. Sheryl was blessed with her only child, Jennifer, in 1984. Sheryl loved watching sports, especially her hometown teams, the Chiefs and Royals. She was an avid animal lover, especially towards cats, having many over the years. Family was the most important thing in Sheryl's life. She loved spending time with her daughter, nieces and nephews, and her only grandchild, Wyatt, held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her Father James Arpin. Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer (Donald) McKenzie of Drexel, MO; mother, Maryjane of Haines City, FL, brothers, James of Louisburg, KS, Michael (Christina) of Kansas City, KS, and Patrick (Lisa Emerling) Arpin of Middle Creek, WA; nieces and nephews, Katie, Joel, Sarah, Victoria, and Jimmy Arpin; and one grandson, Wyatt McKenzie. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Queen of the Holy Rosary Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Community and Family Support Services of Johnson County c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary-Crematory, 1 Aquatic Drive, Louisburg, KS 66053.
