Sharon Lee Nelson, 74, was born on August 27, 1948 to Thomas and Frances Quinn in Westmoreland, Kansas. She passed away peacefully in Paola, Kansas on June 3, 2023.
Sharon was known for her kindness, charity, and loving heart. Sharon had a special relationship with her Catholic faith; she always carried The Sacred Heart she received from her father. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola, Kanas. Sharon led an active life, playing golf, pickleball, and bridge. Sharon was very proud of her Hole in One which she got on hole 7 at Paola Country Club.
Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jim, daughter Heather (James Miller), sons Jason (Anita) and Ryan (Julie), sister Charlotte Quinn (Dennis) and brother Tom-Tom Quinn. Sharon and Jim have seven grandchildren, Paige Bernick (Justin), Ashley Lopez (Jay), Payton Enke (Matt), Allison Nelson (David Gates), Drew Nelson, Katie Nelson, Amanda Nelson, Henry Martell, and a wide circle of friends. She touched the lives of many with her generosity and sense of humor.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Frances Quinn. Sharon will be reunited in the Kingdom of God with her loved ones.
A funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola, Kansas on Friday June 9 at 10:30 am. A visitation and Rosary will precede the funeral mass beginning at 9:00 am and a luncheon will follow the funeral mass. Friends and family are invited to attend and pay their respects. A celebration of life will be held at Paola Country Club at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Phoenix Home Care and Hospice, in memory of Sharon Nelson. The family is extremely appreciative of the care and compassion they showed Sharon in her final days. Donations will help continue their legacy of making a difference.
Sharon will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she
touched.
