Sharon Kaye Rice, age 75, of Louisburg, KS, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at Olathe Hospice House in Olathe, Kansas. Sharon was born in Wichita, KS on May 19,1943 the first child to Delbert Brown and Maxine Simpson Brown. In her early years she enjoyed camping, fishing and water skiing with family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting, Sharon loved bowling, bingo and elephants. Her home always included elephants of all sizes. Sharon married Virl Allison and had her first son, Terry. They later divorced and Sharon married Glen Rice and welcomed her second son, Benny. Soon after they moved to the Burden, Cambridge area. In 2009, two years after losing her husband to cancer she moved to Louisburg to be closer to family. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, sister-in-law, and her son Terry. She is survived by Benny, Linda, Melia, and Remington Rice of Louisburg, Claudia Allison, Tierra and (David) Nash of Merkel, Texas, Loretta (Mike) Terrio of Pacific, Missouri, Jerry Rice, Gary (Michelle) Rice, Karen Adams, Vada (Gary) Robert all of Wichita. Toya (Rikk) Laney of Mulvaine. Rita (Jim) Borror, Alvin George, Roy (Cindi) George of Burden along with 25 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8 :00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Dengel & Son Mortuary 1 Aquatic Drive, Louisburg, KS. Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday April 5, 2019 at the Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge, KS.
