Sharon Kaye (Jones) Koenecke, age 77, of Drexel, Missouri, passed away Thursday May 30, 2019 at Life Care Center, Osawatomie, Kansas. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Dengel and Son Louisburg Chapel, Louisburg, KS with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in the Bucyrus Cemetery, Bucyrus, KS. Sharon was born February 25, 1942 in Fort Scott, KS, the daughter of Archie and Cleo (Wood) Jones. She was united in marriage to Jerry Kramer Koenecke on September 18, 1960 in Overland park, KS She worked at Oscar Meyer as a secretary and Orman’s Furniture Store selling wallpaper for many years. She enjoyed knitting, embroidering, crocheting, painting pictures and keeping a clean house. She loved to sew, making clothes and quilts. Sharon always had a beautiful flower garden and vegetable garden. You could always find her in the kitchen cooking and baking. She served as president of the E.H.U. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gary Jones. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Jerry; one daughter, Linda Colleen Palmer, Omaha, NE; two sons, Richard Glen Koenecke, Greensboro, Maryland; and Jerry Leroy Koenecke, Spring Hill, KS; one sister, Roxie West, three brothers, Wendle, Vincent and Kevin Jones; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital C/O Dengel & Son Louisburg Chapel P.O.
