Shari Anne Bishop, 64, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.
Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, November 10, 2023 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ottawa, Kansas.
Inurnment Mt, Calvary Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
Shari was born Tuesday, February 3, 1959, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Marilyn (Strobel) McMillen.
She was a lifelong Ottawa resident graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1977.
Shari was united in marriage on July 20, 1996, in Ottawa to Victor Bishop. They later divorced.
She was employed as a bookkeeper with Ottawa Skyhook from 1983 until the mid-1990s. Shari was the owner and operator of Bishops Brew in Ottawa from 1996 until present.
Shari was a member of the Aerie Lodge 2700 Fraternal Order of Eagles of Ottawa Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Sacred Heart Church.
Shari especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed camping, bowling, softball, and traveling to Texas to see her dear friend Carol and family.
Shari was preceded in death by her parents; brother Alan McMillen; and her pet dog Harley.
Survivors include sister Janis Heck (Larry) of Ottawa; five nieces and a nephew Erin Coffman (John) of Ottawa, Travis Heck (Sarah) of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Julie Wettstein (Brandon), Jenny Welsh (Dalen) of Garnett, Kansas. Trudy Kleitz (Shane) of Wellsville, Kansas and Kristi McDaniel (Dean) of Hutchinson, Kansas. Along with many great nieces and nephews whom she loved spending time with.
