Sara Lynn Vallier was born February 10, 1954, at Horton, Kansas, the daughter of W.F. and Claudine (Jarvis) Critchfield. In her youth, she lived in many locations, including the Effingham, Kansas area. She later lived in Overland Park, Kansas, moving to the Richmond, Kansas area in 1974, where she made her home until her death Saturday, May 6, 2006, at the age of fifty'two years. Lynn graduated from Ruston (Louisiana) High School with the class of 1972. She attended Louisiana State University, Ottawa University, Johnson County Community College, and Neosho County Community College, holding certifications as a Certified Medical Assistant, Radiologist Assistant, and a Physicians Office Laboratory Technician. For many years, Lynn has been employed as a lab technician/supervisor at several area clinics including, Covenant Health Care Lab of Overland Park and Olathe, Professional Plaza Lab in Ottawa, the Associates in Family Care of Osawatomie and Paola, and the Urgent Care Center, OMSI. She was a member of the Franklin County Medical Assistants and held offices of Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, Vice-President, and President. She was a member and past President of the Kansas Medical Assistants Society. She was a member of the American Society of Radiology Technicians and Franklin County Breast Cancer Support Group. She had also attended several local churches. Lynn loved to plant flowers in the spring time, play with the new kittens on the farm, and was passionate about reading. She loved music and always enjoyed outings with friends to go to lunch and then shopping, usually at a bookstore. Lynn's life was characterized by a serving heart. She made friends easily and gave generously of her time and her life to all those around her. She was especially attentive to patients she came to know through her lab work. On August 3, 1974, Lynn was united in marriage with Verle Vallier in Ottawa, Kansas. Lynn and Verle were happily married for nearly thirty-two years. He survives of their home. Other surviving family members include her mother, Claudine Critchfield of Richmond, Kansas; a sister, Theda Gay Onofrietti of Arlington, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, W.F. Critchfield. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from Ottawa University Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2006. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Vallier at Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5:00 p.m. Monday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8 Tuesday evening. CEMETERY: Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas.
