Sandra Lou Sandy” Slankard, age 70, of Pomona, Kansas, died Saturday, December 4, 2010, at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born on Thursday, May 30, 1940, in Delta, Colorado, the daughter of William and Belva (Radcliff) Holman. She grew up in Colorado and lived in San Antonio and Houston, Texas, prior to moving to Pomona. Sandy and her husband, Jim, co-owned and operated the 700 Club of Pomona. She was also a homemaker. On Friday, May 9, 1958, Sandra was united in marriage with James Leroy “Jim” Slankard in San Antonio, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2006. She is survived by her: Daughter-Debra Jean “Debbie” Allen of Pomona, Kansas; Daughter-Kimberly Lynn “Kim” Slankard of Pomona, Kansas; Sister-Earlene Ferguson of San Antonio, Texas; Brother-Larry McNames and his wife, Sandy, of Grinnell, Kansas; Sister-Betty Bulla and her husband, Roger, of Grand Junction, Colorado and Eleven - Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her: Husband-James Leroy “Jim” Slankard; Parents-William and Belva Holman and Sister-Cindy Deems. SERVICES: Celebration of Life Services will be held at the 700 Club in Pomona at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2010. IN STATE: Cremation is planned. CEMETERY: Private Inurnment Services will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Pomona.
