Ruth L. Sanders age 85 of Linn Valley, Kansas passed away Monday November 7, 2011 at the Gables Assisted Living in Overland Park, Kansas. Ruth was born on February 19, 1926 in Temple, Oklahoma to Willie Trenton Henderson and Laura Esther Murphy Henderson. She graduated from Tom Bean High School in Tom Bean, Texas in 1943, and then earned 36 hours of college credit in nurses training in Sherman, Texas. After nurses training she moved to Washington, D.C. and worked as a clerk typist in the Pentagon. Ruth was united in marriage to Clyde Herbert Lentz on April 18, 1947. He passed away on March 30, 1956. On May 10, 1957 Ruth married Kenneth Sanders in Raytown, Missouri. She worked as a school bus driver in the 1960"s, then in the 1970"s she was employed as a telephone switch board operator for the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Later Ruth was an independent sales associate for Avon and a clerk typist for several companies. Ruth enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. She was a member of the Linn Valley Community Church and the Linn Valley Ladies Auxiliary where she was always willing to give a helping hand to others. Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband, five sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her husband Kenneth E. of Linn Valley, KS; seven children, Philip Clyde Lentz and wife Patricia of Overland Park, KS, Carolyn Joan Zeller and husband Rod of Lexington, MO, Ronald Herbert Lentz and wife Sana of Shawnee, KS, Donna Ruth Ramirez and husband David of Lake Charles LA, Cynthia Lee Towsley and husband Stanley of Stover, MO, Christine Elaine Howell and husband Kevin of Austin, TX, Alice Diane Keys and husband Frank of Topeka, KS; one sister Betty Ann Seidlits of Horseshoe Bay, TX; 22 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Linn Valley Community Church or Heartland Hospice.
