Ruby Marie Brewer Coleman

Ruby Marie Brewer Coleman, 81 of Paola passed away Sept. 7, 2010 at North Point Nursing Center in Paola. She was born on July 1, 1929 in Louisburg to Paul C. and Gladys Marie Whitaker Corey. She attended Fontana and Paola Schools. On February 7, 1947 she was united in marriage to Clyde Brewer in Paola. To this union 14 children were born. Clyde preceded her in death on April 9, 1999. On December 26, 2003 she was united in marriage to Donald Coleman in Osawatomie. Ruby was a life-long resident of the Paola area. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, canning, gardening, and tending to her flowers, attending family events, and watching her grandchildren fish. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde; and one grandchild, Virginia Brewer. Survivors include her 14 children and 3 step children; son, Carl Brewer of Paola; daughter, Carol Kirkland of Grayson, KY; son, Max Brewer of Paola; son, Rex Brewer of May, OK; son, Gary Brewer of Arkansas City, KS; son David Brewer of Paola; daughter, Janet Moser of Paola; son, Lonny Brewer of Paola; son, Tommy Brewer of Osawatomie; son, Daniel Brewer of Osawatomie; son, Tony Brewer of Paola; son, Freddie Brewer of Paola; son, Jeffery Brewer of Belle Vista, AR; daughter, Freda Thompson of Gravette, AR; step-son, Ronnie Coleman of Somerset; step-daughters, Roseanne Coleman Brewer and Marilyn Coleman Brewer, both of Paola; over 100 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Alvera Reynolds; and three brothers, Myron Corey, Harvey Joe Corey, and Donald Corey. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Church of God (Holiness), Osawatomie, KS, in memory of Ruby Brewer Coleman.
