Roy Glenn Pearce, age 83, of Osawatomie, Kansas, died Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Roy was born November 9, 1933 at Hillsdale, Kansas. He was the son of Carl Grady and Jessie Anna (Judd) Pearce. He attended school in Hillsdale. Roy was united in marriage to Lynn Pearce in February of 1974. A farm east of Beagle is where they called home for several years before moving to California. In 1996, they moved from California back to their farm at Beagle. It was in 2006 that they moved from their farm into the city limits of Osawatomie. Roy worked several places around the Paola and Osawatomie area. He and his wife Lynn owned and operated the J & L Outlet in Osawatomie. Roy also owned and operated the Skelly Station in Osawatomie. In his lifetime, Roy had four terrier dogs and had named them all Spot. He also had a great love for horses and was well known for his horsemanship. While living in California, he was foaling manager at a thoroughbred stud farm. After he retired, anyone in search of Roy during the summer, could find him mowing out on the farm on the Super C. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lynn who died October 5, 2016, four brothers Lloyd, Lee, James, and Dale, and a sister Helen Chesney. He is survived by three sons Merlin Pearce (Debbie) of Paola, Doug Pearce (Jennie) of Lane, and Jeff McCulley of Paso Robles, CA; two daughters Laura Smith of Drexel, MO and Margaret Barnes (Daryl) of Baldwin City; one brother Clifford Pearce (Melvina) of Paola; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; many other relatives and friends.
