Roy E. Schulz, 83, of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Cremation is planned. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Private family inurnment Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul, Kansas. Roy was born December 18, 1934 in Rantoul, Kansas, the son of Carl Henry and Ethel Gladys (Thompson) Schulz. He grew up in Rantoul, moving in 1964 to Ottawa, and in 1995 to Princeton, Kansas. He graduated from Rantoul High School with the class of 1953. Roy served in the United States Marines from December 1954 to December 1958 obtaining the rank of Sergeant. Roy was united in marriage to Gloria A. McDaniel in September 1959 at Junction City, Kansas. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his three children, Juanita Worthington and husband Gary, Ethel Ball and husband Marshall, and Roy Schulz, Jr.; three siblings, Edith Aubry, Bill Schulz, and Jerry Schulz and wife Bonnie; nine grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; sister-in-law, June Schulz; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ethel Schulz; four brothers, Charles Schulz, John Schulz, Albert Schulz, and Chet Schulz; and two sisters, Evelyn Parkhurst and Thelma Needs. Roy was a residential carpenter in the Lawrence and Kansas City area. He attended Ruhamah Baptist Church when he was a child. Roy enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids and playing with his cattle.
