Ross E. Baker, age 65, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Monday, January 24, 2011, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa. He was born on Thursday, June 14, 1945, in Ottawa, the son of James Henry and Dessie Talititha (Jones) Baker. He was a lifelong Ottawa resident. Ross attended Ottawa schools. Ross worked in construction as a cement finisher in Kansas City. He was a member of Town Country Church of Christ of Ottawa, where he formerly served as a Deacon. He was also a member of Cement Mason Local #518. Ross donated a kidney to his brother, Nilo. In August of 1991, Ross was united in marriage with Mary Lou (McCurdy) Baker. They were later divorced but remained companions for twenty years. She survives of their home. Survivors include Stepdaughter,Nila Eichhorn and her husband, Tom, of Vassar, Kansas Sister,Bonnie Meyer of Topeka, Kansas Seven Grandchildren Eleven Gt.Grandchildren He is preceded in death by His Parents,James Henry and Dessie Baker,Stepson,Clifford “Cliff” Baker,Stepson,Terry Baker,Sister,Wynona Tilcock,Sister,Lorraine Anderson,Brother,James Orval Baker,Brother,Lewis Baker,Brother,George Baker,Brother,Nilo Baker Private Graveside Services were held at Dean Cemetery in Franklin County, Kansas. SERVICES:Family will meet with friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011, in the Community Room at Sunflower Plaza, 701 S. Poplar in Ottawa.
