Rosie V. Henry, age 89, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Village West in Ottawa. She was born on Thursday, April 6, 1922, in Rantoul, Kansas, the daughter of James and Hildred (McKinley) Finch. She grew up and lived in the Rantoul community until the age of nineteen. She was a lifelong Franklin County, Kansas resident, moving to Ottawa in 1977. Rosie graduated from Maple Grove School with the class of 1937. In the late 1960’s, she took a course in homemaking at Manhattan and Emporia. She worked as a waitress at L & L Café in Ottawa. She was a member of Ruhamah Baptist Church in Rantoul, Kansas. She was also a member of Pickers & Fiddlers of Kansas over fifteen years. On Sunday, March 30, 1975, Rosie was united in marriage with Virgil Henry. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1988. She was previously united in marriage with Thomas Brockus on March 8, 1941. They were later divorced. In 1956, Rosie was married to Bill Haughn. They were divorced in 1966 but remained good friends. She is survived by her: Son – Roger Brockus and his wife, Bev, of Ottawa, Kansas; Son – Norman Brockus and his wife, Sharon, of Ottawa, Kansas; Grandchild – Robin Wright and her husband, Bill; Grandchild – Steven Brockus; Great-Grandchild – Sierra Wright; Great-Grandchild – Brandy Brockus; Step Grandchild – Mary Wharton; Step Grandchild – Susan Osladil; Step Grandchild – Barbara Saueressig; Step Grandchild – Bill Gabauer and Nineteen Step Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her: Parents – James and Hildred Finch; Sister – Velma Schulz; Sister – Eunice Brockus and Step Grandson – Joseph Gabauer, Jr. SERVICES: Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012, at Ruhamah Cemetery in Rantoul, Kansas. IN STATE: The family will meet with friends at Dengel & Son Mortuary from 6:30 to 7:30 Thursday evening. CEMETERY: Ruhamah Cemetery in Rantoul, Kansas.
