Rosa Lee Scott was born April 4, 1934, in Quinton, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of William and Dovie (Wadkins) Wimberley. A lifelong Franklin County, Kansas resident, she made her home in Pomona, until her death Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at the age of sixty-nine years. As a child, Rosa attended Ottawa schools. she was a lifelong homemaker and member of the Ottawa Church of the Nazarene. On November 6, 1954, Rosa was united in marriage with Clarence Scott at Warrensburg, Missouri. He survives of their home. She is also survived by two daughters and five sons, Raymond Scott of Ottawa, David Scott of Ottawa, James Scott of Littleton, Colorado, Thomas Scott of Ottawa, Roseann Higgs of Cedar Point, Cindy Mendell of Ottawa, Wayne Scott of Ottawa; three sisters, Thelma 'Sally' Griffin of Pomona, Annie Lee Sommer of Emporia, Elizabeth Nichols of Emporia; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and, several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Clarence Scott, Jr.; two sisters, Pearlene Yakich, Callie Mae Bell; and, two brothers, Otis Wimberley and Charles Johnson. 'Rosa wasn't just a mother of eight kids and a loving grandmother. She carried a lot of love, that she shared with each and everyone. Our mother was the type of person who enjoyed people in general, and people enjoyed her. That's what made Rosa Scott the person she was, a devoted wife and loving mother. That, in itself, is worth everything. With all our love, we'll miss you, Dad and the kids' SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2003. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Clyde Greisen. IN STATE: Mrs. Scott will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 3:00 Thursday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Thursday evening.
