Ronald "Ron" Louis Brady

Ronald “Ron” Louis Brady, 74, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024, at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, Merriam, Kansas.

Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Ottawa University Fredrikson Chapel, Ottawa, Kansas.  Family will greet friends from 1:00-2:00pm prior to services.

Ron was born Monday, January 16, 1950, in Parsons, Kansas, the son of Louis Harold and Ruth Ellen (Purkey) Brady.

He was a life-long Ottawa resident attending Ottawa High School with the class of 1968.

Ron was employed with several local businesses including Ottawa University where he worked as a cook for over ten years.

He was a member of the Cherry Street Wesleyan Church in Ottawa. Ron enjoyed playing cards, fishing, Chiefs, Royals, and all the Ottawa University Sports where he had his own honorary seat. He was lovingly referred to as “Mr. Ron” by the students and faculty.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Ruth; and two brothers Mike Brady and Tim Brady.

Survivors include daughter Kristine Brady of Ottawa, Kansas; step-daughter Tiffany McCurdy of Ottawa, Kansas; sisters Patricia Haworth of Ottawa, Kansas, Sharon Thompson (Jack) of Ottawa, Kansas, Mary Brady of Ottawa, Kansas, Peg McFadden (Joe) of Ottawa, Kansas, and Kathy Brady of Olathe, Kansas; seven grandchildren Lexus Silvey, Dante Silvey, Quintana Silvey, Taquorian Silvey, Toby McCurdy, Zane McCurdy, and Cohen McCurdy; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
