Ronald Lee Barker age 77, of Paola, KS passed away January 2, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. Ron was born August 25, 1936 in Olathe, KS. the son of Leslie and Faye Ramsey Barker. He was united in marriage on July 28, 1957 to Beverly Emberton in Olathe, Kansas. Ron graduated from Olathe High School in 1954. He worked at Western Electric/ AT&T for thirty years. After retirement he drove a school bus for the Louisburg and Paola School districts for many years until retiring in 2005. For many years he volunteered with LARA and he loved playing Santa for many different functions. He was a Commissioner for the Boy Scouts for the Twin Rivers District and a member of the Hillsdale Presbyterian Church. He loved square dancing, bowling, playing cards, putting together puzzles and being outside spending time with his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harley, Neal and foster brother, Billy Van, sisters, Lola, Virginia, Elsie and Gail. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Barker, Paola, KS; son, Randy Barker and Renee Schoonover, Louisburg, KS; daughter, Rhonda and Chris Lewis, Paola, KS; grandchildren, Dakota, Randa and McKenna Lewis and Riley and Rayden Barker, brothers, Howard Barker, Freemont, CA. and Dallas (Margaret) Barker, Flint, MI. and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests contributions made payable to the USD 416 Endowment Fund, in memory of Ronald Barker P.O. box 734 Louisburg, KS 66053. Louisburg United Methodist Church 249 N.
