Ronald F. Milton, age 75, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, July 13, 2020, at Olathe Health Hospice House. Family will meet with friends from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Friday, July 17, 2020, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Graveside service will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, with military honors by the United States Marine Corps. Ron was born July 19, 1944 to Floyd H. and Mary West (Teter) Milton in Knoxville, Tennessee. He lived in Tennessee, later Florida and moved to Kansas as a teenager. He graduated with the Ottawa High School Class of 1962. After graduation he joined the Marine Corps for four years and served part of his enlistment in Vietnam. Ron was united in marriage to Barbara J. DeWald in 1968. He was employed in manufacturing and later became a salesman, selling everything from motor oil to advertising specialties. He retired as an insurance agent in 2006. Ron liked old cars and trucks, walking the dog, and going to coffee with his friends. Above all he loved his family and grandsons and the time they spent together. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Eloise Milton, and son Michael in 1993. Survivors include his wife Barbara of the home; son John (Christal) Milton of Park City, Kansas; grandsons Zander Clifton and Nolan Michael Milton. He is also survived by brothers Rick (Licia) Milton of New York City and Ron (Susan) Hughes of Ottawa, and sisters Kathy Jo (Beth) Hughes of Guilford, Connecticut, and Pauline (Rick) Ferguson of Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Project c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
