Ronald C. Pope, 65, of Louisburg, passed away late Saturday, February 16, surround by loved ones. Ron was born February 1, 1948 to August (Bud) and Evalyn Pope in Kansas City, Missouri. The Pope Family moved to the Louisburg area in 1957. Ron graduated from Louisburg High School in 1966 and was drafted into the army in 1968. He fought in the Vietnam War and left the service with the rank of Sergeant. Ron married Virginia Grant in April of 1970 in Overland Park, KS. The couple has called Louisburg home for the last 43 years. Ron was owner of Pope Construction from 1971 to 1997 when he went to work for Bob Meyer Construction. He recently retired. Ron was a past Master of the Masons and a member of the American Legion. He had a passion for both hunting, fishing and his pets. He was preceded in death by his parents and two younger brothers. Survivors include his wife, Virginia of Louisburg, his three daughters, Jenny, Amy and Beth, all of Olathe and his sister Sue Seuferling (Ken) of Louisburg. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Kansas City Hospice House or Wounded Warrior Project.
