Ronald Albert “Ron” Samsel, 81, of Wellsville, Kansas, passed away at his home Sunday, May 9, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 17, 2021, at Wellsville Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Ron was born January 27, 1940, at Marionville, Missouri, the son of Albert and Helen (Galloway) Samsel. He lived in Wellsville from 1972 to 1994 moving to Joplin, Missouri where he lived from 1994 to 2002. In 2002, Ron returned to Wellsville where he made his home until his death. He graduated from Aurora, Missouri High School with the class of 1958. Ron was united in marriage to Linda Wiard July 6, 1971, at Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home. Ron worked as a pressman in the printing industry. He was employed at Neff Printing Company in Merriam, Kansas, from the early 1960’s to late 1980’s, and King Press in Joplin, Missouri from the late 1980’s until his retirement in 2002. Ron loved his family and grandchildren and the time they spent together. He enjoyed going to coffee and breakfast with his buddies, watching westerns and movies. He was a mechanic and liked to refurbish tractors and cars, he also refurbished furniture, enjoyed woodworking, and working in his shop. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Larry Samsel. Survivors include his wife Linda Samsel of Wellsville; four children, Troy Samsel (Kelly) of Wellsville, Lisa Martin (Lee) of Wellsville, Ronnita Paul of Olathe, and Jace Samsel also of Wellsville; two siblings, John Samsel of Connecticut, and Ramona Paulson (Bill) of Washburn, Missouri; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions payable to Landmark National Bank for the benefit of the Wellsville Car Show c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
