Rollinda Sue Higdon

Rollinda Sue Higdon was born November 28, 1964, at Ottawa, in Franklin County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Floyd Elmer and Juanita (Thompson) Higdon. Rollinda was a Franklin County, Kansas resident most of her life. She lived in Kansas City, Kansas from 1990 to 1993, returning to Pomona, in Franklin County, where she made her home, until her death Monday, July 7, 2003, at the age of thirty-eight years. Rollinda graduated from Pomona High School with the class of 1983. She graduated from Kaw Valley Technical School in Topeka with an Associate of Arts Degree in Photography in 1985, and C. T. Business Institute in Lawrence in 1989. She was an Administrative Assistant with Augustine Exterminators in Kansas City, Missouri, four years, retiring in 1993, due to health reasons. She attended Pomona United Methodist Church. Rollinda was a very talented young lady. She enjoyed creating craft items and sewing. She also loved horses and enjoyed caring for, and showing, the horses. Most of all, she loved being with her family and especially enjoyed her niece and nephew. Rollinda is survived by her mother, Juanita Higdon, of Pomona; sister, Leigh Ann Higdon of Pomona; brother, Michael F. Higdon and his wife, Shirley, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two aunts, Florence Milliman of Pomona, Evelyn Dellolio of Friendswood, Texas; uncle, Myron Thompson of California; niece, Olivia Higdon of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and, nephew, Casey Higdon of Pomona. She is preceded in death by her father, Floyd E. Higdon, on April 22, 2003. SERVICES: Graveside Inurnment Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Glen Yancey. IN STATE: Miss Higdon has been cremated. Family will meet with friends at Dengel & Son Mortuary from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2003.
