Roger L. Nelson

Roger L. (Bean) Nelson, age 70, of Louisburg, KS died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at his home. He was born October 7, 1940 in Louisburg, the son of Walter Allen and Annetta M. "Margie" Nelson. Roger worked for Paxton Lumber Company as a truck driver for 32 years before retiring. He loved working on cars and motorcycles most of his life. He also enjoyed having coffee with his buddies at the Blair House, BP, Price Chopper and Miss B"s. Roger read a lot of books, watched movies and has a passion for country music. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Gerald Allen Nelson. Survivors include 4 children, Randy Nelson, Independence, MO; Cheri Truelove, Kansas City, MO; Roger Earl Nelson, Drexel, MO; Rodney Nelson, Independence, MO; 2 sisters, Jackie Thomas, Louisburg, KS; and Carol Price Ottawa, KS; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Penwell " Gabel Louisburg Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:00 " 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in the Louisburg Cemetery. The family suggest memorials be given to the Agape Food Pantry or USD 416 Endowment Association.
