Rodney Allan White was born on Tuesday, February 25, 2003, in Olathe, Kansas. He was the son of Scott A. and Dana L. (Wiederholt) White. A lifelong resident, Rodney made his home with his loving family in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas, until his death on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at the age of seven. Rodney was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Ottawa. He just completed first grade at Sacred Heart School, where he received the Personal Success Award for his “Peace Filled Spirit”. He loved school and playing with all his friends. Rodney loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting with his daddy, and playing sports with his brother, Russell. He earned many sports medals, plus trophies for fishing and horseback riding. His trophy from the Rodney White Hot Rod Golf Tournament was very special to him. He loved animals, liked singing and trying new things, such as learning to play the piano. He loved shopping with mommy, watching movies and SpongeBob with Russell, playing video games, being on the computer, reading, and, of course, playing with toys. He admired superheroes, and liked reading Spiderman comics. He was an avid K. U. Basketball and Royals Baseball fan. Rodney loved being with his family and especially loved all their holiday gatherings. A very caring young boy, Rodney enjoyed helping others and did so on a regular and ongoing basis. Rodney is survived by his parents, Scott and Dana White of the home; brother, Russell White of the home; three sisters, Heather Halstead and her husband, Chris, of York, Nebraska, Jessica White of York, Nebraska, Alyssa White of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; paternal grandmother, Betty White of Paola, Kansas; maternal grandmother, Judy Wiederholt of Princeton, Kansas; maternal grandparents, Francis and Hazel Wiederholt of Princeton, Kansas; maternal great-grandmother, Laura Sutton of Princeton, Kansas; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Also, Rodney was very proud he had just become an uncle. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Darrell White. SERVICES: A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010. IN STATE: A Rosary will be said at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 6:30 Friday evening followed by visitation at 7:00. CEMETERY: Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, Kansas.
