Roberta J. “Bertie” Johnson, 86, of Williamsburg, Kansas, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021, with family by her side. A private Celebration of Life service will be held later. Bertie was born April 4, 1935, at Columbia, Missouri, the daughter of Alfred Allen and Emma Gwendolyn (Gerard) McKaig. She was a lifelong Franklin County resident living in the Williamsburg community since 1965. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1953. On October 10, 1952, Bertie was united in marriage to Roy Johnson in Hiawatha, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2017. Bertie was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She loved taking care of her family and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Bertie enjoyed being home and liked a clean house, cooking, and tending to her flowers. After the passing of her husband, Roy, their pet dog Murphy (a Pug-Zu) was always at her feet or in her lap. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son James “Jim” Johnson in 1997, son-in-law Larry Rapp in 2016, and a son-in-law Johnny (Pic) Aubert in 2018. Survivors include her five children, Deborah “Deb” Aubert of Williamsburg, Roy “Ron” Johnson, Jr. and wife Pam of Osage City, Pamela “Pam” Rapp of Waverly, Robert “Bob” Johnson and wife Rhonda of Surprise, Arizona, and John Johnson and wife Sharon of Williamsburg; fourteen grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.
