Roberta was a near lifelong Ottawa, Franklin County, resident. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1946. Roberta owned and operated Roberta`s Antiques on Highway 68 five years and was also a self-employed interior decorator. She and her husband, Max, previously owned and operated Kaw Landing Marina four years on the Kaw Lake at Ponca City, Oklahoma, and, over the years, she was a partner with her husband in his home building business, working as an interior designer. She was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church, Tole Painters Association and part of a small group of ladies called the Forty-sixers, who graduated from high school together in 1946. On December 15, 1946, Roberta was united in marriage with Max F. Bechtle in Ottawa. He survives of their home. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from Dengel & Son Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2006. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Bechtle after 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Dengel & Son Mortuary to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends from 7 to 8:00 Friday evening. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Kansas or Bea Martin Peck Animal Shelter, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
