Robert "Bob" D. Whiles, 77, of Shawnee Mission, Kansas passed away March 27, 2010 after a long battle with many health issues. He was born April 8, 1932 to Velpo and Cammie Mae Bosley Whiles in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a loving father and grandfather who had a great love for horses, watching westerns and FBI shows. Bob worked for Williams Meat Company in Kansas City, KS as a beef lugger, along with owning and managing several private clubs and taverns in the KC area before retiring in 1964. In 1972 he moved to Kincaid, KS, then to Bayard, KS in 1974, and to Mildred, KS in 1975 before making his home in Lane, KS in 1977 where he lived until 1994 when he moved to Osawatomie, KS. In 2009, when he was no longer able to live alone, he moved to a nursing home and was in and out of hospitals in the Kansas City area. He was preceded in death by his parents; several siblings; son, Joseph Daniel Whiles; and two grandsons. He is survived by two daughters; Angel Drybred and husband Terry of Colony, KS, and Stephanie Loving and husband Kevin, also of Colony; two sons, R.D. Whiles and fianc" Chasity of Iola, KS, and adopted son, Nathan R. Colton of Kansas City, KS; granddaughters, Amenda and husband Osman Amman of Colony, Susan Loving and fianc" Cesar, and Italy Loving of Colony; grandson, Ky Kevon Loving of Colony; great-granddaughters, Brooke E. Rodriguez and Aubrie N. Culbertson of Colony; and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will always be loved and greatly missed by all.
