Robert W. “Bob” Keim, 82, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at his home in Ottawa, Kansas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Highland Cemetery. Bob was born Thursday, February 9, 1933, in Michigan Valley, Kansas, the son of Clifford and Wilma (Myers) Keim. A lifelong resident, Bob made his home in Ottawa. He married Lois M. Cole, they later divorced. Bob married Joan Bayless Dodd November 12, 1976, in Ottawa. She preceded him in death March 29, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and brother, Donald Keim. Survivors include his two sons, David Keim of Ottawa, and Tony Keim and wife Beth also of Ottawa; daughter, Cindy Johnson of Ottawa; stepsons, Donald Dodd of Leavenworth, Ronald Dodd of Emporia, and William Keim of Topeka; stepdaughter, Diana Stafford of Topeka; sisters, Alice Patton of Wellsville and Linda Keim of Shawnee; brother, Wayne ‘Bink’ Keim of Merriam; fourteen grandchildren, Courtney McCoy, Dana Dodd, Melinda Stafford, Brandy Dodd, Nicole Weis, Samantha Johnson, Brista Keim, Kristina Keim, Ryan Dodd, Trenton Keim, Brady Keim, Joseph Keim, Jacob Keim, and Michael Stafford; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was employed by Santa Fe Railroad for 10 years in the mid 1950s to early 1960s. He later worked for Bennett Creamery, in the early 1960s to mid 1970s, starting in production and then truck driving, until they closed. Bob became employed by Dwight Haworth and Kermit Hoffmeier as a truck driver, retiring in 1989. After retirement, he spent many hours hanging out and ‘supervising’ at Andy’s Wrecker Service. He was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church, and served on the vestry, a former member of the Aerie Lodge 2700 Fraternal Order of Eagles and Ottawa Lodge 803 Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He enjoyed traveling, auctions, going to casinos, and family related activities.
