Robert W. Bozworth, 84, of Bonner Springs, Kansas, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021, at Lakeview Village Nursing Home, Lenexa. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2021, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1011 N. DeSoto Rd., Lansing, Kansas 66043. Mr. Bozworth will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Bob was born April 6, 1936, at Leavenworth, Kansas, the son of James Bozworth and Cyrena (Mason) Bozworth. He lived in Franklin County from 1965 to 1996, moving to Bonner Springs where he lived for the last 22 years. He graduated from Basehor High School with the class of 1954. Bob continued his education at Kansas State University graduating in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science in Dairy Science and in 1971 with a Master of Science in Dairy Nutrition. Bob was united in marriage to Helen Sacks January 11, 1958, at Easton, Kansas. She preceded him in death on February 23, 1995. He married Carole (Grigsby) Prather October 12, 1996, at Basehor, Kansas. She survives of the home. He served in the Kansas National Guard for several years. Bob was a County Agriculture Agent from January 1960 to December 1992 working in Montgomery, Labette, and Franklin counties. He was employed at Ottawa Coop as an Agronomist and Loan Officer from 1992 to 1999. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa, serving as president of the Parish Council, and former member of the Ottawa Rotary Club. During Bob’s retirement, he raised cattle and loved anything to do with cattle. He enjoyed watching KSU basketball and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Survivors also include two children, Kay (Doug) Miller of Lawrence, Kansas, and Rex (Karen) Bozworth of Sedalia, Missouri; two stepchildren, Amy Hind of Madison, Kansas, and Megan (John) Rauschenberger of Navarre Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren, Samantha (Ryan) Losson, Shelby Miller, Derby Miller, Rae (Carl) Hutchison, Shannon (Josh) Woodmansee, Allen (Clarisa) Bozworth, and Katie (Justin) Heimsoth; and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Salvation Army c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
