Robert “Bob” Thomas Neill, 67, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Friday, September 27th, 2024.
Bob was born on June 21st, 1957, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, to Marvin and Dorothy (Sterrett) Neill. He grew up in Quenemo and Olivet, Kansas. He graduated from Quenemo High School with the class of 1975. He attended McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas.
Bob held many jobs, including at the Post Office in Quenemo and as the sub Postmaster at the Ottawa and Osage City Post Offices. He was most famous, however, for owning Buzzards Pizza in Pomona, Kansas, for many years or, most recently, as “Mr. Bob,” the Custodian at Appanoose Elementary School.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Dorothy Neill; and by three brothers, Gary Neill, Pat Neill, and Everett “Pete” Neill.
Bob is survived by his four brothers, John Neill, Charles Neill, Craig Neill, and Mike Neill; his five sisters, Kay McCurdy, Jean Hunt, Mary Brown, Marilyn Allen and DeeDee Honodel, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.
A visitation will take place on Monday, October 7th, 2024, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa, KS. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions to West Franklin Elementary at Appanoose c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
