Bob Thomas, age 68 of Harris Kansas, and recently Ottawa Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 19 at his home.

Bob was born on September 17, 1956, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Wilbert and Daurice (Tisdel) Thomas. He graduated from F.L Schlagle High School with the class of 1974. Bob served in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1978, attaining the rank of E-3 as a SeaBee stationed on the atoll of Diego Garcia. After the military, he worked in heavy construction at the Wolf Creek power plant and with KNW. He also worked at the Harris KS Co-Op and various farming occupations.

Bob focused on lifelong friendships. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, driving backroads looking at wildlife, gardening, sweets and puzzles.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Longstaff. Bob is survived by two sisters: Verna Proctor, Basehor, Kansas and Joyce Thomas, Tonganoxie, Kansas.

Being a man of little ceremony, Bob requested no public events and there will be a private family service. Instead of a visitation, please raise a toast in his honor.
