Robert N. “Bobby” Vincent, 71, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Mr. Vincent will lie in state at the mortuary from 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 6, 2016, to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Friday. Interment Hope Cemetery, Ottawa. Bobby was born Monday, October 2, 1944, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the son of Louis and Dorothy (Porter) Vincent. A lifelong Louisiana resident, Bobby lived in Houma for 40 years. In 2015, he moved to Ottawa, where he made his home until his death. He graduated from high school in Lake Charles, Louisiana, with the class of 1962, and continued his college education in engineering. Robert was united in marriage with Dawn (Potter) Guy December 31, 2000, in Houma, Louisiana. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his four children, Doug Vincent and wife Minnie of Wiggins, Mississippi, Holly Gurauskas and husband Donatas of Houma, Louisiana, Joshua Hundley and wife Tobi also of Houma, and Nic Guy of Ottawa; brother, Gary Vincent and wife Polly of Jacksonville, Florida; seven grandchildren, Heather Knight of Wiggins, Mississippi, Robert Paul Vincent and wife Kristen of Lumberton, Mississippi, Ashley Vincent of Wiggins, Mississippi, Kayden Vincent, Karolina Gurauskas, Madison Hundley, and Cooper Hundley all of Houma, Louisiana; three great grandchildren, Andrew Vincent, Adler Morris, and Adrian Vincent all of Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Louis Jr., Raymond, and Ronnie Vincent. Bobby was employed as an engineer with Halliburton in Houma and New Iberia, Louisiana, for 37 years, retiring in 2002. He worked on oil rigs and traveled to many locations during his career with Halliburton. Bobby enjoyed yard work, watching westerns and history, and was a KC Chiefs and New Orleans Saints fan.
