Robert Marlatte

Robert James Bob Marlatte, age 91 of Baldwin City, Kansas, died Sunday, May 06, 2012 at Wellsville Retirement Community in Wellsville, KS. He was born on Saturday, November 13, 1920, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Joseph E. and Esther (Meyer) Marlatte. Robert spent most of his life in the Chicago area moving to Roswell, New Mexico in the mid 1980’s, also living in Cathedral City, California before moving to Baldwin City, Kansas in 2005. Robert graduated from Lindbloom High School, Chicago, Illinois, with the class of 1940. He attended Illinois Technical Institute for two years. Robert worked in manufacturing for many years. He was a Management Consultant for ten years for Midwest Industrial Management Association in Chicago, Illinois retiring in the early 1980’s. During World War II, Robert served from July 13, 1942 until February 22, 1946 in the United States Army Air Force attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant as an Airborne Equipment Radar Repairman/Instructor. Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ottawa, Kansas. On May 2, 1942 Robert was united in marriage with Trudy Curtis at Chicago, Illinois. She survives of their home. He is survived by his: Wife – Trudy Marlatte of Ottawa, Kansas; Daughter – Sandra Marlatte of Ottawa, Kansas; Three Grandchildren and Three Great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his: Parents – Joseph E. and Esther Marlatte and his Brother – Glenn Marlatte. SERVICES: Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012. CEMETERY: Inurnment will be scheduled for a later date in Chicago, Illinois.
