Mr. Orpin lived in Rantoul, Kansas, since 1993. He had previously lived in Mission, Kansas; Prairie Village, Kansas; and Kansas City, Missouri. Robert graduated from Rockhurst High School, Kansas City, Missouri, with the class of 1965. He was owner and operator of Bob Orpin Plumbing in Mission, Kansas, since 1991, serving the Kansas City area . He was formerly operations manager for several Kansas City Truck Lines. During the Vietnam War, from 1968 - 1969, Robert served as a Medic in the United States Army with the 18th Surgical Hospital, 4th Infantry Division. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. On January 6, 1988, Robert was was united in marriage with Rebecca `Becky` Baldwin at Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of their home. SERVICES: A Rosary will be said at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, followed by a Memorial Service at 10:30 and procession to Highland Cemetery for inurnment services. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Fr. Tod Ziegler. IN STATE: Mr. Orpin`s body will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 3:00 p.m. Monday to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, where family will meet with friends for visition from 7:00 to 8:00 Tuesday evening. Cremation will follow. INURNMENT: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas, with Military Honors by V.F.W. Post #5901, Ottawa. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to M.S.
