Robert L. Hendrickson, 75, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017, at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Greenwood Cemetery, west of Ottawa. Robert was born Tuesday, November 4, 1941, in Cleveland, Missouri, the son of James Oliver and Golda Ferne (Butts) Hendrickson. He lived in Miami County since 1963, moving to Ottawa in 1978. Robert was remarried to Anna May Imel September 27, 2013, in Versailles, Missouri. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his five children, Wade Hendrickson of Ottawa, Robbie Hendrickson of Paola, Jeff Hendrickson of Tonganoxie, Albert Imel of Princeton, and Jeannie Allis of Ottawa; two sisters, Carolyn Jacobs of Paola, and Connie Derks of Buffalo, Missouri; three brothers, Buddy Hendrickson of Hollister, Missouri, and twin brothers, Harold Hendrickson of Paola and Darold Hendrickson of Fontana; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Golda Hendrickson. Robert was employed as a welder for the Taylor Forge Company in Paola. He also owned his own truck, leasing and driving for Debrick Truck Line for 10 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 2673 in Paola. Robert loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed riding horses and watching rodeos, especially bull riding. He also enjoyed watching his favorite KU college basketball team, “Go KU”. He loved the New England Patriots football team, fishing at Pomona Lake, coon hunting, and was an avid calf roper.
