Robert W. Harper, Sr., age 89, lifelong resident and farmer of rural Louisburg, Kansas, died July 11, 2015 at the V. A. Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Robert was born October 27, 1925 in Louisburg, Kansas. He was the son of Scott Leroy and Susanna Friederika (Boeger) Harper. He grew up in Louisburg and attended Louisburg Rural High School. Robert was born and lived on the family farm until recent years when he moved to Assisted Living. Robert proudly served his country with the Army in the South Pacific during World War II. As a farmer, he raised dairy cattle, sheep, and chickens, as well as row cropping. As a collector of barbed wire, Robert was a member of the American Barbed Wire Society. As a dairy farmer, he was a member of the Mid-American Dairy Farmers' Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ester Marie (Reeves) Harper, and his wife Wanda Fae (Billingsley) Harper. He is survived by his seven children Robert William, Jr. (Jamie) of LaCygne, KS, Samuel L. (Beth)of Overland Park, KS, David Eugene (Carol) of Overland Park, KS, Kenneth Leroy (Shanna) of Linn Valley, KS, Kevin Wayne (Barb) of Dunnegan, MO, Shari Lynn Jasper (Randy) of Buffalo, MO, and Danny Ray of Mound City, KS; 22 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and many neighbors and Vintage Park Assisted Living friends.
