Robert H. Brenner

Robert Harold Brenner, 85, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, passed away April 15, 2020, at his home. Private graveside services will be held at Paola Cemetery. Robert was born April 25, 1934, in Kansas City, KS, the son of Harold and Erna (Eastern) Brenner. After graduating from high school, Robert enlisted in the United States Navy on October 25, 1953 and was honorably discharged on July 12, 1960 after serving in the Korean War. Robert H. Brenner was united in marriage to Barbara J. Kallas in Kansas City, Kansas on August 25, 1982. celebrating 37 years of marriage before his passing. They lived in the Kansas City area before moving to Sunrise Beach, Missouri where they have lived for the past 30 years. He worked as a firefighter for 23 years for the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department, retiring in 1987. Robert enjoyed fishing, boating, woodworking and loved spending quality time with his wonderful wife Barbara of 37 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Barbara of the home; three sons John Ed (Donna) Gifford, Timothy (Dorene) Brenner, Steven (Jackie) Gifford; step-daughter Kathy (Doug) Stanley of Olathe, KS; step-son, Dave (Rhonda) Janssen; two grandchildren Michelle and Christ Brenner; three step-grandchildren Kyle Stanley and Kodi Stanley Reasoner and Caleb Janssen (Julie); step-grandchildren Blake and Garrett Janssen ; sister Sabra Brenner; many other relatives and friends.
