Robert Eugene `Bob` Stone, 76, of Waverly, Kansas died on Sunday, October 12, 2008, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Waverly, Kansas. He was born on Sunday, November 22, 1931, in Blue Springs, Missouri. He was the son of Samuel Taylor and Sarah Frances (Stump) Stone. He lived in Waverly the past two and one-half years, moving from Stone Mountain, Georgia, where he had made his home from 1970 to 2006. Bob graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri, with the class of 1947, and William Jewell College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy in 1956. He also attended Southwest Missouri University and Kansas University. He was Distribution Manager for Michelin Tire Corporation from 1966 to 1991, also working as Southeast Regional Manager during that time. He was a charter member of Grace in Ottawa Community Church; founding member of Rotary Club in Gwinnett County, Georgia; and very active in the Atlanta Christian Cursillo Movement. On June 11, 1968, Bob was united in marriage with Joan `Jo` Hay in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. She survives of their home. Stone Brother-Richard Stone Sister-Marjorie E. Mabry Sister-Mary Anna Duer SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2008. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Stone at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 7:30 to 8:30 Tuesday evening.
