Richard "Rick" Ray Montague, 65, Coppell, Texas, died at home February 3rd, 2015. Born July 16, 1949, Winnemucca, Nevada, to Victor and Esther Montague, he is survived by his mother, sister Deborah Heinitz, wife Maxine Montague, three children and seven grandchildren. Rick married Maxine Louise McKoon on November 5, 1977, in Olathe, Kansas. They were married 37 years, and have 3 children (Kimberly, Shawn, & Stacy) and 7 grandchildren. Rick was a 1967 graduate of Central Heights High School and a 1971 graduate of Emporia State University. He spent forty years working in the auto industry and retired in 2014 after 33 years as a Parts & Service Manager for Nissan. His career brought him many lasting friendships. A devoted husband and father, Rick made it a priority to attend (and occasionally coach) all of his children"s band and sporting events, in spite of frequent work travel. He loved teaching his children to fish, shoot, play golf, and he loved working on home projects with them. Rick loved fishing and sports with his children and was looking forward to teaching his grandchildren. He also enjoyed woodworking, creating beautiful clocks, birdhouses, walking sticks, and refinishing furniture. Card games with friends and family were always welcome. Rick grilled a mean steak and made delicious ribs and meatballs, but the best of all were his very special pancakes that he made for breakfast every weekend. Rick will be missed tremendously by his family and many friends. Memorial donations can be made in Rick Montague"s name to MD Anderson Cancer Center for bile duct cancer research.
