Rick is survived by his three children Lichell Canales (Victor) of North Port, Florida, Richard Beery, Jr. (Lauren) of Osawatomie, and Ray Beery (Tara) of rural Paola, Kansas; six grandchildren Jaidyn, Lane, Julian, Rayce, Lola, and Layla; one brother Garry Beery of Boston, Massachusetts; two sisters Diane Wicks of Melbourne, Florida and Pamela DeCavelle (Larry) of Wheatland, Missouri; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Lemoyne and Blanche (McGuire) Beery and his brother Larry Beery. Rick was born January 7, 1956 at Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up in Shambaugh, Iowa. He received his Bachelor"s Degree in Construction Engineering in 1983 from Finlay Engineering College, Kansas City, Missouri. Rick was a master electrician for 35 years owning and operating his own business, Beery Electric. He enjoyed the outdoors - gardening, walking, swimming in his pond, talking to his cows, riding his bike, floating the Marias Des Cygnes river, and fishing. Spending time with his grandchildren was a major joy in his life. He was a member of the Green Valley Baptist Church. He thoroughly enjoyed his bible study group and fellowship with his brothers and sisters in Christ. Rick"s biggest achievement by far was accepting Jesus as his Savior and coming to find the Lord our God. He has been through the Lord"s word cover to cover and over and over. Memorial contributions can be made to the Green Valley Baptist Church and can be sent in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 605 O"Neal Ave., Osawatomie, KS, 66064.
