Richard R. 'Shorty' Spring, 65 ,of Ottawa, Kansas died on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, Kansas. He was the son of Harold Spring(deceased) and Ida Marie (Haley) Spring-Wilson. He was born on Wednesday, July 23, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a near lifelong Ottawa resident. He was employed as a sanitation worker by Johnny Keenan and Vernon Honn twenty years, retiring for health reasons in 1992. He attended Church of the Nazarene in Ottawa. On November 2, 1982, Shorty was united in marriage with Janice Green in Ottawa. She survives of their home. Survivors include: Wife-Janice Green of Ottawa, Kan. Mother-Ida Marie (Haley) Spring-Wilson of Richmond, Kan. Daughter & son-in-law-Tonya & Michael Sheldon of Ottawa, Kan. Daughter & companion-Michelle Green & Richard Wadewitz of Quenemo, Kan. Daughter & son-in-law-Mary & Leo Davis of Trenton, Mo. Daughter-Shirley Lawrence of Eudora, Kan. Daughter & son-in-law-Amy & Neil Walles of Aurora, Mo. Daughter-Wendy Rowans of Trenton, Mo. Son-Mark Miller of Ottawa, Kan. Grandchildren-Twenty-seven Five Gt. Grandchildren Many Nieces & Nephews He was preceded in death by: Father-Harold Franklin Spring Brother-David Spring Sister-Diane Barber Infant Granddaughter-Kayla Lawrence SERVICES: Memorial services will be held from Church of the Nazarene in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2006. IN STATE: Mr. Spring was cremated. Family will meet with friends at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday prior to the funeral services at Church of the Nazarene.
