Richard L. Mathewson, 66, of Cleveland, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 2, 2009, at the Kansas City Hospice House. The Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 from 10:00 " 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 606 S. Elm Louisburg, KS. Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Seneca, KS. Richard was born September 21, 1942 in Axtell, Kansas, to Paul and Elsie Becker Mathewson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Terrance Mathewson and a sister-in-law Rae Mathewson. Survivors include his wife of 37 years Deborah Mathewson, two sons, David and Robert Mathewson, granddaughter Abbygail, brothers and sisters-in-laws; Bill and Sandra Mathewson of Manhattan, KS; Wayne and Jackie Mathewson of Howe, TX and sister and bother-in-law Kay and Jack Fangman of Topeka, KS. Richard graduated from Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School, Seneca, KS, class of 1961. He retired after 30 years at Honeywell as a pipe fitter and machinist, belonging to the Local Union 533. He was also a member of the Harrisonville Elks Lodge, Harrisonville, MO. Richard loved his family and life, enjoying many hobbies such as golf, bowling, pool, fishing and boating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road Kansas City, MO 64145. Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 606 S.
