Richard L. “Rick” Crawford, 61, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, August 1, 2016, at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Rick was born Tuesday, February 22, 1955, in Ottawa, the son of Alvin and Lucille (Davis) Crawford. He was a lifelong Ottawa resident. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1972. Rick was united in marriage with Sheryl Brown December 4, 1971, in Ottawa. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his mother, Lucille Crawford of Ottawa; two children, Hollie Showalter and husband Shon, and Jason Crawford all of Ottawa; siblings, Reid Crawford, and Robin Horne and husband Mike all of Ottawa; and eight grandchildren, Baylee Jordan and husband Kyle of Manhattan, Taylor Green and husband Brian of Pomona, Jacob Showalter of Ottawa, Josh Showalter of Ottawa, Justin Showalter of Ottawa, Jarod Crawford of Richmond, Jadon Crawford of Richmond, and Josie Crawford also of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Crawford; and brother, Randy Crawford. Rick was employed from 1971 to 2010 as a parts and service manager working for Ray Brown Ford of Ottawa, Underwood Equipment of Ottawa, Jack Ellena Honda of Lawrence, and Dodson International Parts of Rantoul. He was a member of the Richter United Methodist Church. Rick loved his family and enjoyed their time together. He was an outdoorsman who liked hunting, fishing and horses.
