Richard Eugene Morrow, age 73 of Ottawa, Kansas, died Friday, December 25, 2009 at his home. He was born on Saturday, December 28, 1935 in Ft. Lupton, Colorado. He was the son of Clarence Harvey and Ruby Marie (Brown) Morrow. He lived in Ft. Lupton, Colorado until moving to Franklin County, Kansas in 1946. Richard attended Ottawa High School. He worked twenty-eight years for Ottawa Truck in the machine shop and in parts and service, retiring in 1998. Earlier he worked for years as a trimmer for Commadore; for Willis Nursery, Joel Cutting Wholesale; on the construction of the Kansas Turnpike and owned and managed M & B Tree Service. He worked part-time for Hunt Midwest as a loader operator. Richard served in the Kansas Army National Guard. He was a member of Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Ottawa, Power of the Past, and Ottawa Bowling Association, and also served as a forestry leader for the Boy Scouts and 4-H. On Sunday, June 9, 1957, Richard was united in marriage with Mary Brock at Richmond, Kansas. She survives of their home. He is survived by by his: Wife – Mary Morrow of Ottawa Son – Mike Morrow and his wife, Kathy, of Sealy, Texas Son – Tim Morrow and his wife, Theresa of Ottawa, Kansas Daughter- Nancy Kimball and her husband, Jim, of Lane, Kansas Son – Larry Morrow of Ottawa Son – Rod Morrow and his wife, Leticia of Ottawa, Kansas Sister – Carol Welton of Ottawa, Kansas Sister- Betty Kirkland of Princeton, Kansas Grandchildren – Nicholas, Mark, Gracelynn, Jeremy, Stacy, Becky, Tiffany, Timothy, Greg, Ross, Leland, Kayla, Levi, and Raelee Great Grandchildren – Peyton, Taylor, Lakeleigh, Carter, Dylan, Lane, Ethan, and Tristan He is preceded in death by his Sister- Mary Belle Morrow Brother – Robert Morrow Brother – Leon Morrow Sister – Lois Morrow Brother – Lloyd Morrow Brother – Leland Morrow Granddaughter – Kelli Morrow SERVICES: A memorial service will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009. Inurnment will be at a later date. IN STATE: Mr. Morrow has been cremated.
