Reverend Carl R. Patillo, Sr., age 53, of Spring Hill, Kansas, died November 15, 2017 at the Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas. Mr. Patillo was born December 17, 1963 at Paola, Kansas. He was the son of Odelia Jewett. He grew up in Paola and graduated from Paola High School with the Class of 1982. He attended Brown Mackey College and Mid America Nazarene College. He served his country with the United States Navy during Operation Just Cause. He entered the Navy in June of 1982 and was honorably discharged in June of 1991. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Grant on October 3, 1987 at Charleston, South Carolina. He was an associate minister at Bethany Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Ottawa, Kansas. He was a member of the Johnson County NAACP and Johnson County Democratic Party. Carl was a very devoted family man. He enjoyed going to Gold River Auction on Saturdays, collecting art, coins, and traveling. He was also a member of the Elks, Olathe, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his mother Odelia Jewett and three brothers Aaron and Jerome Patillo and Charles Ragland. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann of the home; children Tiffany Bond, Samantha Patillo, Tikesha (Rashod) Merlice, Carl Patillo, Jr., Marcous A. Patillo, and Nicholas M. Patillo; siblings Richard (Alice) Spears, Raymond Patillo, Gary (Connie) Patillo, Helen Gibson; father W. T. Everette; mother-in-law Ethel Cummings; two sisters-in-law Richardine Dickerson and Jennifer Bonnette; two brothers-in-law Anthony Cummings and Wesley Grant; 11 grandchildren; four special friends Chris Daniels, Charlie Johnson, Reverend Armogen Walker, and Elder Jimmy Hamilton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
