Reed Allen Butler

Reed Allen Butler, 57, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021, at The University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. Reed was born Wednesday, January 22, 1964, in Paola, KS, the son of William Clarence and Shirley (Alkire) Butler and grew up in Harrisonville, MO. Reed was united in marriage to Christine Marie Arnold October 21, 2006, in Osage Beach, MO. Being very mechanically inclined, Reed’s career began with repairing and servicing machinery of all kinds; cars, commercial construction equipment, industrial pumps, compressors, and all types of generators. He spent several years traveling before deciding it was time to stay closer to home. Reed enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his customers and employees. He was currently employed at CK Power as a service manager. Reed was an animal lover. He would tell you that he preferred dogs, but was known to bring home the occasional kitten as well. In his younger years he enjoyed racing cars and hunting. As he got older he preferred a quiet weekend at home with his four legged friends and wife. He was preceded in death by his father William Clarence Butler and mother Shirley Ann Butler. Survivors include his wife Chris of the home; two daughters Amy Butler and Brady Martinez of California; step daughter Abigail Arnold of Gardner, KS; six grandchildren Kylie, Peyton, Constance, Madison, Jack, and Jayden; two brothers Brent (Cindy) Butler of Peculiar, MO and Christopher (Carli) Butler of Harrisonville, MO; his father- and mother-in-law Al and Mary Russell of Kansas City, MO; brother-in-law Tony (Martie) Russell of Shell Knob, MO; many other relatives and friends. The family plans to have a Celebration of Life for Reed at a later date.
