Raymond Franklin Parr age 88 of Wellsville Kansas passed away April 28th at his home. Memorials may be made to the Olathe Hospice. Raymond was born on March 13, 1923 in Kanawha, Iowa to William and Lila Wicks Parr. He grew up in Missouri and moved to Minnesota his junior year and graduated from Elkton High School. On December 29, 1942 Raymond enlisted in the United States Navy and served until January 3, 1946 when he received his Honorable Discharge. On August 14, 1948 he was united in marriage to Beverly Pritchard in Lawrence Kansas to this union 4 children were born. They lived in Kansas City Kansas from 1950 to 1959, moved to Paola and lived there from 1959 to 1975 then to Wellsville, Kansas. Raymond was employed with General Motors and worked as a painter for 30 years before retiring in 1979. Raymond enjoyed fishing along with taking the kids and grandkids fishing and visiting with friends and neighbors. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, David, LeRoy and Eugene. Survivors include his wife Beverly of the home, son Terry Parr and wife Barbara of Wichita, son David and wife Nancy of Foley Alabama, daughter, Rayma Kaub of Wellsville, son Kelly Parr and wife Linda of Paola, one brother Billy Parr, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
