Raymond 'Ray' Norcross, Sr. was born on Sunday, September 18, 1938, in South Anvoy, New Jersey. He was the son of Oliver and Estell (Knapp) Norcross. In 1990, Ray moved from New Jersey to Ottawa, in Franklin County, Kansas, where he made his home, until his death on Friday, October 19, 2007, at the age of sixty-nine years.Ray was a machine operator. During the 1970's, he worked with U. S. Metals Refining Company in Carteret, New Jersey. He was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed the sport of hunting and also liked to go bowling. Ray was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family and grandchildren were most important to him, and he just loved being at home. On September 13, 1983, Ray was united in marriage with Verna Koloski in South Anvoy, New Jersey. She survives of their home. Ray is also survived by his daughter, Tammy Ann Norcross of Ottawa; three sons, Raymond Norcross, Jr. of South Anvoy, New Jersey, Brian Norcross of South Anvoy, New Jersey, Timothy Norcross and his wife, Lori, of South Anvoy, New Jersey; two brothers, Robert Norcross of Connecticut, Jimmy Norcross of Pennsylvania; several grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Norcross is preceded in death by his parents. SERVICES: Memorial Funeral Services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2007. IN STATE: Cremation is planned.
